Today has mostly been about spending quality time with family, which is always important. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, so taking a day to relax and enjoy the simple moments with loved ones is something I always cherish.

A Quick Morning Aerial Videography Session

That said, I did manage to sneak in a small window of time for some aerial videography this morning, right after my Sunday run. I had a request from someone in a Facebook group to capture some aerial footage of the Four Clocks Centre in Bishop Auckland. While the surroundings aren’t the most picturesque, I have to say, the centre itself came out beautifully in the footage. Sometimes, it's about seeing the charm in everyday places, and this was one of those moments.

The Four Clocks Centre: From Wesleyan Methodist Church to Community Hub

The Four Clocks Centre is a bit of a local landmark in Bishop Auckland, with a rich history that adds to its significance. The building originally served as a Wesleyan Methodist Church, constructed in the late 19th century. The Wesleyan Methodist movement was a key part of the religious landscape in the region, and this church was a focal point for the community for many years.

In the 20th century, as the congregation dwindled and the needs of the community evolved, the church was repurposed. The transformation from a place of worship to a vibrant community centre is a testament to the adaptability of historic buildings. Today, the Four Clocks Centre serves as a community hub, offering a range of services and activities. Its distinctive clock tower, from which it takes its name, continues to be a prominent feature in the town’s skyline.

From an aerial perspective, the clock tower stands out against the urban landscape, giving the area a distinctive character. The surrounding architecture may not be the most picturesque, but capturing the centre from above provided a new way to appreciate its place in the community. It was definitely worth the visit, and I’m pleased with how the footage turned out.

Editing Fun and Looking Ahead

Now, it’s back to editing. I’ve got a growing pile of images and video to sift through, and I’m having a lot of fun reviewing all the content from the past week. There’s something satisfying about watching it all come together, and I’m excited to share more with you soon.

Thanks for following along, and I hope you all had a great Sunday, whether you were out exploring or simply enjoying some downtime with family.
