Church of St Edmund, Sedgefield
St Edmund’s Church in Sedgefield is a Grade I listed building, dating back to the 13th century, and stands as a prime example of Early English Gothic architecture. Built between 1246 and 1256, this historic church features an aisled nave, added transepts and chancel from around 1290, and a 15th-century tower. The church, dedicated to St Edmund of Abingdon, a former Archbishop of Canterbury, has been a focal point of worship and community life for centuries.
The aerial footage captures the beauty of its towering spire and its peaceful surroundings, while the ground-level photography highlights the intricate stonework, including its magnificent stained glass windows and striking Perpendicular-style west tower. This project celebrates both the architectural grandeur and the deep historical roots of St Edmund’s, preserving its legacy through a compelling visual narrative.
